Today I offer a look at where we are currently staying in Verona, since some of you have asked about that.
So, to try to orient you a little, here’s a look along the Adige River in Verona. Note that our vacation apartment rental is not right on the river, nor does it have a view of the river (it overlooks a street). However, it’s just a short couple of blocks from the river, located in an area that is between two bridges (Ponte Nuovo and Ponte Pietra) and two huge churches (Santa Anastasia and the Duomo) when viewed from the other side of the Adige.
For example, here’s a look at the area as viewed from high on a hill across the river in one of the Verona city webcams. The arrow on the left in this photo marks our building’s location as near as we can tell (as usual, click on the photo to view a larger image):
Since I was unwilling to climb the hill yet to take my own photo from up there, you’ll have to make do with the following shots, taken from the street level on the other side of the river.
Enjoy the view – as well as the glimpse of the Friendly Tourist, captured waiting patiently for the photographer to finish her panorama photos along the Adige. ![]()

I like the aerial view which includes the rapids. I also like the little yellow arrow. How on earth do you get an arrow in the picture?
Ahh, with this beautiful view, you and Chris`s “Plan G” has begann:) Great! Alles Gute!
