Travel Tuesdays: Floating “Treasures”

Today on Travel Tuesdays we visit Trieste for a quick look at a few floating treasures.

Let me explain.

To set the stage, here’s a quick look of Trieste from above:

The Piazza Unità d’Italiaa is the central square in Trieste, and is visible in the middle of the above photo at the left end of the long white pier that extends out in to the water.  Here’s a look at it while standing on that pier:

However, it was when we turned around to look down at the water a little beyond that pier that we spotted an amazing sight: a large group of jellyfish floating gracefully through the water. Here a few I caught in motion:

They were so pretty and such fun to watch! Not a treasure for everyone, perhaps. But definitely an unexpected delight to stumble upon in Trieste.

  1. Those were nice pictures. I have never seen a jelly fish do that! I tried to post a comment yesterday on the sunset picture but your dumb machine said I had already that which of course I hadn’t because I hadn’t sent anything.

I like photo #2 the best interesting enough because of the glassy smooth look of the water and the waves. Of course, the sunlight shining on them and the silhouette of the town doesn’t hurt!
