Sorry for the lack of blog posts this week.  Let’s call this a “Where in the World Wednesday” post, as I let you know what we’ve been up to this week.   

So on Sunday Chris and I hit the road, starting on our official Plan G Road Trip (PGRT). Yup, we have now left Florida (thanks to everyone there – it was fun to visit!). We spent a couple of  long days driving through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia, reaching Columbia, Maryland,  late Monday night. We’ll be spending a week here (thanks, Stuart!) in order to do some research at the Library of Congress this week for my Coming into Focus project about American women photographers circa 1900. Fun – but tiring, since not only do we get to visit the LOC, but we also get to experience an honest-to-goodness all-American commute by car and by metro.   The weather here has also required some changes in wardrobe:  it was about 85º F (30º C) when we left Florida, and in Maryland the highs are currently hovering 68º F (20º C).

Anyway, I’ll try to get more posts up ASAP to explain more about our PGRT , but I don’t know if I can promise much before next week. In the meantime, here’s a link to a webcam in DC.

Note that this is NOT the view from our apartment in Columbia, and it is NOT a perspective we have had on the Mall in Washington on our way to the LOC. However, it looks like a nice webcam view, so I hope you enjoy it.
