It’s been nearly 8 years since we left Vancouver, and this current visit is the first time we’ve been back. We lived in the West End part of town, just off of Denman Street near to English Bay, Stanley Park and the Vancouver harbour, with the North Shore Mountains just across the water to the north. Today I want to share a few photos taken the past few days, both from our vacation apartment, as well as from walks along English Bay and Stanley Park. It’s fun seeing some familiar places and scenic spots again; it’s even more fun discovering ways to photographic them a bit differently.
While I realize that’s the perfect intro to wax philosophical about returning to a place you used to live and seeing it through different eyes, etc., I’m never that good with waxing philosophic about that kind of thing. So, I’ll just leave you with a few photos that show Vancouver in a different light, in the sense of using different kinds of light to show off scenes in Vancouver.
BTW, the last 5 photos below show views of the harbour and were taken from our vacation apartment, a place that definitely has a “room with a view” – and then some!
