Museums, Mystery and Serendipity

Last week Chris and I spent two nights but only one full day in Albuquerque, having gone there originally only to go back to one of our old favorite museums, the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology.  Chris and I first stopped there back in 1992, on a 2-week summer tour of the Southwest (a wimpy 2000 miles covered over 2 weeks, as I recall, compared to the 2000+ miles that we just did in 4 days); that  was a trip where we stopped at a variety of museums and national parks along the way. Left at Albuquerque

When last I wrote, we were in Santa Fe, having just spent over a week there. On Monday afternoon though, after a final fabulous lunch at a place called Cafe Pasqual’s,  we ventured just an hour south to get to Albuquerque.   We had some great meals in Santa Fe, actually — lots of New Mexican style cooking, including Red or Green Chile Sauce, black beans, and green chile and cheese tamales. Dateline: Santa Fe, New Mexico

Sorry for the lack of posts last week – it was a bit hectic as we came back from 4 packed days in NYC, prepared for, and then actually did a road trip across 2/3 of the U.S: 4 days and 2000+ miles to get from NJ to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  We’ll be here in Santa Fe until next Monday, in a funky little vacation apartment that you can read about on their website – we’re in the “Sun Room”).
